Computer Gaming Degrees from the University of Advancing Technology
The University of Advancing Technology (UAT) offers an Associate’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Gaming. A student can complete the Associate’s degree in 60 weeks, while the Bachelor’s degree program takes 120 weeks.
Taking Computer Gaming at UAT gives students the knowledge they need to effectively analyze games and develop their own original ones. They have the opportunity to learn about the various steps involved in bringing a game from the concept stage to a finished product ready to be released. By the time they graduate, UAT Computer Gaming students have participated in at least three game projects (with contributor or author status on each one).
Students at UAT can choose between attending classes at the school’s campus in Tempe, Arizona or studying online. On-campus classes start in September, January and May.
Students who choose the distance learning option can start working toward their degree without a long wait, since classes start every five weeks.
Studying Computer Gaming Online
Students enrolled in UAT-Online take one course at a time, and each one takes five weeks to complete. Three courses are taken each semester. Since students take the courses in sequence, each one builds on their existing knowledge as they work through the material.

How to Apply to the University of Advanced Technology
UAT has different application forms, depending on whether the prospective student is a U.S. resident or an international student. The application form and criteria for acceptance to the online program is different than the on-campus option. Links to each form are on the University’s Undergraduate Application page on the school website.
The Undergraduate Application form for U.S. residents can be filled out online. Applicants are asked to indicate whether they have obtained their high school diploma or GED, and if they have previously graduated from college. In some cases, college credits may be transferred to UAT.
Along with information about previous educational experience, an applicant is asked a number of short answer questions about why they are interested in attending UAT, how they would define the word, "geek", more. Proof of graduation from high school or obtaining a GED, along with official college transcripts, if applicable, are also required as part of the application process.
