Albertus Magnus College is located in New Haven, Connecticut. The school was established in 1925 by the Sisters of Saint Mary of the Springs (now known as the Dominican Sisters of Peace) as a college for women. Albertus Magnus went co-ed in 1985.
Albertus Magnus College is a private, liberal arts school. It has an enrollment of approximately 500 full-time students and 1,700 continuing education and graduate students. English majors at Albertus Magnus College can choose to concentrate their studies in Creative Writing. Applying to Albertus Magnus College
A prospective student at Albertus Magnus College is required to submit the following information as part of his or her application package:
- Completed application form (available online)
- Official transcript from the applicant’s high school
- SAT or ACT Scores
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor
- Personal essay
- Non-refundable application fee ($35)
Albertus Magnus College accepts applications on a rolling basis. There are no specific cut-off dates for prospective students, although most high school seniors apply for admission during the fall of their senior year. The deadline for Financial Aid Priority Packaging is February 28. Students who wish to be considered for scholarships offered by the College must have their application materials turned in by March 15.
Admission decisions are made within four weeks of the College receiving the student’s form and supporting materials. An interview is not required, but it is recommended so that the College can get to know the applicant before making a decision about whether to offer admission.
All students at Albertus Magnus College are guaranteed on-campus housing for the four years they are attending as undergraduate students. Freshmen can bring their car to campus, as long as the vehicle is registered with Student Services. The Yale Shuttle Bus is available to students at no charge.
