Kansas State Computer Science and Information Systems Degrees
Kansas State University is known as a "cutting edge" school in the United States. More than 250 undergraduate programs and options are offered. The main campus is located in Manhattan, Kansas, a city is known as the "Little Apple."
KSU was established in 1858. At that time, it was called "Bluemont Central College." The first class was made up of 53 students.
Now, the school has an enrollment of over 23,000 students from all 50 states, as well as more than 90 countries.
The Department of Programming and Information Science offers two undergraduate degree programs: Computer Science and Information Systems. Within the Computer Science degree program, students choose to concentrate their studies in either Software Engineering or Computer Science. The Computer Science concentration is considered the more academic choice. A person who is considering continuing their studies at the graduate level or who is looking for a more liberal arts education would find this option a good fit.

Applying to Kansas State University
High school graduates who have achieved one of the following criteria are eligible for admission to Kansas State University:
- Top third of his or her graduating class
- SAT score of 980 or higher/ACT score of 21 or higher
- GPA of 2.0 or higher on the Kansas pre-college curriculum (2.5 GPA for out-of-state applicants)
Eligible individuals are invited to submit an online application for admission. High school students are encouraged to start the process in the fall of their senior year. The next step in the process is to take the ACT; October or December are the preferred months for doing so. SAT scores may be submitted in place of ACT results. Other documents required as part of the application materials are high school transcripts and any college transcripts.
